physics cont…
in my efforts for a assertion of awesome physics… awesome physics being the moments of absurdity experienced in games, from skewed time to ludicrous gibs and bodies walking through walls.
Alan Cholodenko refers to a ‘nutty’ universe of cartoon referencing Stephen Hawkins The Universe in a Nutshell which invokes a third order of the uncanny, which he has termed the ‘cosmological uncanny’ (Cholodenko: 2006). This refers to the fantastic rendering of animated bodies that emulate the bizarre minute operations of the cosmos, like wave particle duality, soliton simulation and quantum tunneling. And the making visible of such illogical and invisible events, as they often occur on a molecular scale, is what produces the nonsensical appearance of the moment. Not only that, but the rules in question apply to minute objects and space not the physical body and their overt application to its form is therefore still an awesome rendering of the plausible in impossible form. The strangeness of the physics resides in the magnification and physical application of the Quantum.
