i love these seepy images, she is so committed to the morbidity of greys. This trend in the contemporary for flattering but morose female forms is tiresome indeed, yet, Stella Im Hultberg brings an element of the gormless to the expression that titters on the grotesque, excelling it. Her bodies are so hard, the line so fierce but their rigid points and awkward joints are delicately cupped and softened by generous tendrils of hair and opulent, if not exploding, dress. The bodies are so simple and elegant, decorated and accompanied only by sparse splatter with dainty precision. Her works are the very definition of beautiful composition and i can’t stop looking.
